Marupadi (மறுபடி) was launched successfully on International Women's Day 2022 and we have already been overwhelmed by the response! The applications have piled up and we have our work cut out for us!

​Who can MARUPADI?

MARUPADI (மறுபடி) is a special wing of the Zoho School for Graduate Studies, aimed at empowering women-in-tech to relaunch their career after a career break.

Our eligibility criteria imposes NO BAR on

We do expect the candidate to have some prior experience of working in a technological role in a software company for a minimum of 2 years   before their break;


We welcome women who are currently unemployed and are waiting for the right comeback opportunity.

Courses Offered

Technical Writing

Focuses on providing aspiring technical writers with a comprehensive understanding of technical writing fundamentals. In addition to technical writing basics, our training program covers product deep dives, SEO basics, and marketing techniques to help writers understand how to write documentation that not only meets technical requirements but also drives user engagement and adoption.

Software Testing

Focuses on providing a comprehensive understanding of testing fundamentals by utilising practical, real-time approaches. The curriculum includes a hands-on training approach that covers every aspect of web and mobile testing, including security, network, compatibility, and API testing.
Candidates who opt for Automation Testing will additionally be trained on Java, JavaScript and Selenium with hands-on Product Automation training.

Software Development

Focuses on enhancing the trainee's skillset on various aspects of the complete stack of technologies (Java, Data Structures, SQL and Basics of Front-end development) needed for a career in Saas development.

How to join MARUPADI?

Our entrance exam is specifically designed to identify candidates who possess the essential skills and knowledge required to excel in their respective roles as developers, testers, or technical writers. The exam is carefully crafted to assess a candidate's abilities in various areas such as problem-solving, critical thinking, and technical proficiency. 

In addition to the entrance exam, shortlisted candidates must also pass a series of interviews to gain admission into Marupadi. These interviews are conducted by our team of experienced professionals and are designed to evaluate a candidate's overall suitability for the program.

Software Testing:

To assess the skills of candidates for manual testing, our entrance exam focuses on evaluating their proficiency in logical reasoning, mathematical aptitude, and software testing basics and terminologies.
On the other hand, candidates aspiring for automation testing will be assessed on their knowledge of Java and their ability to solve logical programs. While familiarity with Selenium or any automation-related frameworks is an advantage, it is not a strict requirement.

Technical Writing:

Our entrance exam evaluates candidates on their proficiency in writing, technical product understanding, and language skills. We look for candidates who possess excellent writing skills, attention to detail, and the ability to comprehend technical subject matter. Furthermore, we expect candidates to have strong research skills. Demonstrating a strong understanding of technical terminology and concepts will be an advantage.

Software Development:

Our entrance exam tests the candidate's skills in Mathematical/Logical Aptitude and Basic Programming questions from the C/C++/Java programming languages.

We request the candidate to have access to an android smartphone with uninterrupted Internet connectivity to participate in the entrance exam (and interviews).

Course DURATION

Our course is an experiential, FULL-TIME, 5-month program conducted in an IN-CAMPUS / DIRECT mode. The trainees will undergo the training at our office campus in CHENNAI.

Our 3-month course is structured innovatively to enhance the trainee’s skillset on various aspects of the COMPLETE STACK of technologies (Java, Data Structures, SQL and Basics of Front-end development) needed for a career in SaaS development.

The trainers at Zoho Schools for MARUPADI bring rich knowledge and experience churned from years of active practice in building Zoho's successful software products. We offer individual mentorship which is tailored to each learner's needs and can accelerate them on restarting a promising career!

INTERNSHIP-based HIRING

Our internship is a periodic evaluation based on learner's performance, including giving feedback at appropriate times and enabling them to get the best out of their training. The trainees will have MONTHLY evaluations based on which they would continue the course. On successful completion, candidates will be allowed to sit for interview and make their way to an amazing career at Zoho Corp!

Hiring after graduating from MARUPADI

After successful completion of the training, the selected trainees will appear for exclusive face-to-face interviews at Zoho Corporation.

FAQs

Is this a paid course?

We do NOT charge our trainees any fees. Instead, we pay them a STIPEND of Rs.10,000/- per month throughout the course of study.

What technologies are taught? What is the COURSE SYLLABUS?

The Marupadi program is a five-month course designed to strengthen key skills needed for a career in SaaS.

  1. The Technical Writing stream covers the fundamentals of technical writing, along with Product Deep Dives, and the basics of Marketing and SEO.

  2. The Testing stream offers hands-on training in web and mobile testing, including security, network, compatibility, and API testing.

  3. The Development stream builds technical proficiency across Java, Data Structures, SQL, and basic front-end development.


Where is the training conducted? Can women OUTSIDE India apply?

Zoho Schools operates from four locations across Tamil Nadu (Chennai, Tenkasi, Tharuvai, and Kumbakonam). However, the Marupadi training program is conducted exclusively at our Chennai office campus.

This program is currently open to women residing in India.

Can graduate women from other streams apply?

Marupadi is designed to help Women-in-Tech re-enter the workforce. A computer science degree is not required for the technology streams, but we prefer candidates with a basic understanding of Java or any object-oriented programming language, along with some prior programming experience. For the Technical Writing stream, we seek candidates with strong writing skills, attention to detail, and the ability to grasp technical concepts. Strong research skills are essential, and familiarity with technical terminology is an added advantage.

Is there a JOB assurance?

The training program will help sharpen your programming skills, which gets you on par with the current job market requirements.

The trainees will be guided through a course involving relevant technological concepts and associated assignments.

The trainees will have MONTHLY evaluations based on which they would be allowed to continue the course.

After successful completion of the training, the selected trainees will be invited to appear for an exclusive face-to-face interview at Zoho Corporation.
Is there a similar program for men?

Those with programming knowledge and less than 24 years of age, can apply to the Zoho School for Graduate Studies. More information here. Others can check for opportunities on Zoho Corp's careers page - https://careers.zohocorp.com/jobs/Careers. 

Can one RE-APPLY if they do not get shortlisted to join this course?

Yes, you can reapply after a cooling-off period of six months and aim to join the bootcamp that begins six months after the one you were not selected for.

Will there be an ENTRANCE EXAMINATION?

Yes, candidates must clear an entrance exam followed by interviews to join MARUPADI.

Our entrance exam is designed to identify candidates with the skills and knowledge needed to excel as developers, testers, or technical writers. It evaluates problem-solving, critical thinking, and technical proficiency relevant to each role.

What are the PREREQUISITES for the entrance exam?

We expect you to have access to a laptop/smartphone with uninterrupted Internet connectivity to participate in the entrance exam (and interviews).

Can women who are currently employed apply?

Marupadi is exclusively for women who are currently unemployed and are waiting for the right comeback opportunity. We do expect the candidate to have prior experience of working in a technological role in a software company for a minimum of 2 years before their break.

When is the entrance exam? How will I know if I am shortlisted for the interview?

The Marupadi entrance exam is conducted twice a year - once in December/January and again in June/July. Keep an eye on our social media channels and website for official announcements.

Candidates shortlisted after the entrance exam will be notified via their registered email with further instructions for the upcoming rounds.


When is the course BEGINNING?

The Marupadi Bootcamp runs twice a year, with cohorts starting in January and July.

How frequent is the recruitment for MARUPADI? When is the NEXT recruitment?

Can tech-graduate women with NO work-experience apply?

Those with programming knowledge and less than 24 years of age, can apply to the Zoho School for Graduate Studies. More information here.

How many years of prior WORK-EXPERIENCE is required (minimum)?

We expect our applicants to have played a technical role in a software company for a minimum of 2 years.

What happens after one SUCCESSFULLY completes the course?

After successful completion of the training, the selected trainees will be invited to appear for an exclusive face-to-face interview at Zoho Corporation.

Will the trainees be asked to sign any BONDS?

We don't sign any bonds with our trainees. Frankly, we believe the only bond that unites us is TRUST!
